Kapinovski Monastery Camping is situated on the banks of the Veselina River, in the heart of the picturesque Balkan Mountains. Here, you will find a unique blend of nature and history, with easy access to numerous natural and cultural attractions.
Our campsite is just 20 km south of Bulgaria’s old capital – Veliko Tarnovo. You can find us easily by following the road to the village of Velchevo, and from there, the distance to the campsite is only 5 km. We recommend using the routes through the village of Prisovo or the town of Debelets for the most convenient and pleasant journey.
The campsite area is flat and forested, surrounded by high rock masses that create a sense of seclusion and tranquility. Close by is the natural attraction – Kapinovski Waterfall, where you can enjoy crystal-clear water and scenic landscapes.
The Balkan Mountains, where our campsite is located, are known for their dense forests and wildlife. The nature here is preserved in its purest form, making it an ideal place for nature lovers, hiking enthusiasts, and wildlife observers. The area features numerous trails that allow you to explore the beauty of the Balkan Mountains.
Just a few kilometers away is the Yovkovtsi Reservoir – one of the largest and most beautiful reservoirs in Bulgaria. The reservoir offers excellent conditions for fishing, water sports, and outdoor picnics. Proximity to the reservoir further enhances the opportunities for various outdoor activities.
2 km along the road to Velchevo, you will find another significant landmark – the Plakovski Monastery “St. Prophet Elijah,” built during the reign of Tsar Ivan Asen II. This historic monastery is a wonderful place to visit for spiritual enrichment while allowing you to enjoy the peace and beauty of the surrounding nature.
